Stebens Children’s Theatre is Now Accepting Registration

for the 2025-2026 Season Tier Classes

​Unleashing Creativity and Camaraderie

 

Tier class is the most exciting way to get involved with all aspects of theatre including performing, technical theatre and classroom fun. Classes start September 2, 2025 and meet weekly through May 22, 2026. To register for 1st Tier a student must be at least seven years old and attending second grade. Monthly tuition is $90 for Tier 1 and Tier 2 and $100 for Tier 3-7 and the Tech Tier. Not sure what class your student fits into? Contact our office and we'll be happy help you. 1st TIER-CREATIVE DRAMA–Monday, 6:00-7:00 pm - Age 7-9

Join us in the world of creative theatrical expression! In this lively class, we use stories as the starting point to create creative drama experiences through voice, movement, and imagination as they act alongside their instructor. In class, we will perform narrative pantomimes, create tableau, and create story dramas together as we build our performing skills. This is a wonderful and supportive class to help your young performer make their debut into the world of theatre. Students may perform an informal sharing at the final class, which displays skills learned. 1st tier students are included in the main stage as ushers.

 2nd TIER-Curtain Call Creators–Tuesday, 6:00-7:00 pm - Age 8-10

Ignite your imagination and hone your theatrical skills! In this course, young performers explore more in-depth using actor voice to perform short fairytale scripts, myths, and legends, among other stories. They will have the exciting opportunity to create storyboards and short plays of their own.  Students may perform an informal sharing at the final class, which displays skills learned. 2nd tier students are included in the main stage as ushers. Students, age nine, are eligible to audition for main-stage productions.

3rd TIER–MUSICAL THEATRE–Monday, 4:30-6:00 pm - Age 9-11

Welcome to our exciting musical theatre class, where young stars can shine bright! In this course, young performers will explore the world of acting, singing, and dancing through popular kid-friendly musicals. With engaging activities and fun-filled rehearsals, students will build confidence and creativity while making new friends. Join us for a fantastic adventure on stage, where every child's imagination takes center stage! Young performers will present a parent performance at the end of the year.  3rd tier students can still usher and audition for mainstage shows.

4TH TIER-Theatre Arts-Wednesday, 4:30-6 pm - Age 10-12​

This thrilling theatre course dives into performing longer scenes and short plays and empowers young performers to build a deeper understanding of performing characters through voice, movement, and imagination.  Students will have the exciting opportunity to also explore roles within the theatre and create their own costume sketches and create/and or pull props to incorporate into the theatre making process. Students may perform for their families in the winter and in the spring the class will produce a final show for a parent performance at the end of the year. Students in this tier are strongly encouraged to audition for the mainstage productions.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5th TIER–Theatre Arts-Tuesday, 4:30-6:00 pm - Age 11-13 (5th/6th grade)

Come create impactful theatre! Tier 5 explores the role of theatre within our lives and within society and explores skits and plays that address social and emotional themes of their age group. Young performers develop an understanding and are given an opportunity to perform in different genres of plays including dramas and comedies. Young performers learn how to complete a character analysis and apply this information to create more in depth and believable characters on stage.  In the fall they participate in a scene adjudication night.  In the spring they perform skits for a parent performance at the end of the year. Students in this tier are strongly encouraged to audition for the mainstage productions.

6th TIER–Theatre Arts–Thursday, 4:30-6:00 pm -Age 12-14 (7th/8th grade)
This class focuses on  digging deep into acting throughout theatre history and perform genres of plays and scenes that will stretch your theatrical acting repertoire. Young performers in this course will have the exciting opportunity to explore styles of directing and have leadership opportunities to direct group skits and short plays.  They will collaborate, rehearse, and prepare pieces for Scene Adjudication Night and may perform final short plays at the end of the year.

7th TIER-Improv Troupe-Thursday, 6:00-7:30 pm - Age 14-18 (9th-12th grade)

Dive into a world where quick thinking and collaboration lead to endless laughter and unexpected moments. Whether you're a seasoned performer or a complete beginner, our dynamic sessions will boost your confidence and unleash your imagination. Experience the joy of thinking on your feet as you explore diverse characters, hilarious scenarios, and the art of storytelling. Tech TIER- TECHNICAL THEATRE-Wednesday, 4:30-6:00 pm. Ages 12-18 (7-12th grade) 

 This class focuses exclusively on the skillsets needed to be successful at technical theatre.  The students will be learning through direct, hands-on projects in prop design and construction, set design and construction, scenic painting, lighting design through DMX controllers, sound design through QLab, and so much more!  The students will assist in creation of the pieces used in our mainstage production for a practical experience in technical theatre.
