Meet our Professional Staff
Tom Ballmer, Director, Teacher, received a Masters in Child Drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has served in the field of youth theatre for 30 years; first at the Black Hawk Children’s Theatre in Waterloo; then at Stebens! Ballmer has published one play, “Buried Treasure,” and written eleven more.
Sally Pressly, Teacher, received a Masters in Child Drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and has specialized at teaching theatre skills to young people. Early in her career Sally toured as a professional actress and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Northern Iowa.
Molly Gerrietts, Teacher and Music Director, received her degree in Music Education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. She has taught at the elementary and high school levels and currently accompanies for the Mason City Schools. Gerrietts has served as musical director for SCT for four seasons. Credits include “The Music Man,” “The Sound of Music” and “Fiddler on the Roof”.
Rachel Everist, Music Director, Pianist, studied at Gustavus Adolphus College and Northwestern University. She has accompanied over 50 shows and hundreds of concerts including performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center. She teaches piano at NIACC and serves as staff pianist for the MCHS Vocal Music Department.
Ashley Graf, Choreographer, received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Middle Level Education from the University of Northern Iowa; as well as a Masters of Science in Education from Southwest Minnesota State University. Ashley has choreographed for 12 seasons at SCT and is an 8th grade literacy teacher at John Adams Middle School.
Rachelle Moeller, teacher and choreographer, received a Bachelor of Arts in theatre performance from the University of Northern Iowa and finished her undergraduate work studying theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. Rachelle is a two-time Irene Ryan scholarship nominee and recipient of the Purple and Old Gold Award for conspicu-ous theatre achievement.
Wendy Mathews, Scenic Artist and Designer, has received degrees in clinical psychology with concentrations in child development and exploration of art therapy (Mankato State University), and elementary education (Buena Vista University). She has served as the scenic artist for SCT for 13 years and also as a freelance artist/designer working throughout the North Iowa area.
Suzan Koehler, Costumer, has been serving SCT for the last thirteen years. She also helps with marketing, fundraising, props and sets. In the past two years she has also written two works, “WSCT Radio Barn Dance” and “The Pied Piper” both produced at Stebens.
Mary Lou Norris, Box Office Manager for 8 seasons at SCT, has 26 years’ experience in front office work including 7 years at Tussies, Ltd. with half of that time acting as store manager. Her previous work with young people includes developing a weekly Christian based After School Program.
Lori Grell, Bookkeeper, graduated from NIACC with a medical secretary/bookkeeping degree and has worked for Stebens for the past 20 years. Lori also works for Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the in-patient pharmacy; as well as Bergo’s Department Store and Rentals.
